voiceovers

the very best narration

Does getting the very best out of your prized documentary really need a great voiceover narration?

You could spend a small fortune on your documentary, but if it's not completed with a compelling, authoritative and genuine narration it could end up being a waste.

Without further ado, have a listen to these short excerpts of my voice from tv documentaries:

attract your audience

great narration equals  great documentary

Some Hollywood actors make their living solely from voiceovers and for good reason. Great voice overs are truly an art, and not everyone can deliver a good one especially when it comes to documentaries.

The challenge is to capture the audience’s interest with an appealing voice, while at the same keeping them focused on the content of the documentary as a whole. A voice like mine!

so, you now need to select the right voiceover talent

A good documentary voiceover reads smoothly and clearly, and enunciates well. A documentary narrator often has a particularly engaging voice and is unlikely to exhibit any kind of displeasing characteristic which would make your listener want to tune out.

You want audiences to walk away talking about the documentary’s message and content, not talking about the narrator!

enhance your documentary

...a British narrator

Sometimes documentaries may choose voiceover talent from different areas of the world for a different 'slant' on the sound.

The documentary Planet Earth used professional narration by David Attenborough for the original BBC version, while Sigourney Weaver provided the voiceover for the Discovery Channel’s US version. But it could have been the other way around.

I have a natural British accent, but I can also create a rich Receieved Pronunciation for that extra slice of Britishness!

What I'd recommend now is for you to have a listen to some of my promos, to get an idea of my voice and how it would fit in with your documentary. Then just contact me if you'd like to chat more about your project.
